about: Restarting
Restarting is now an integral part of our healing ministry. While in recent years God has wonderfully provided many tools to greatly improve the effectiveness of our in depth prayer ministry for emotional healing, there has always been a fair percentage of prayer recipients who have not developed the capacity to make good emotional attachments to others or God. Restarting helps to solve that problem. Restarting is an extremely well developed and easily usable program that presents brain development in an understandable way. But the really exciting content are 36 exercises which can be learned and practiced in healing groups, that result in the growth of necessary neuropathways which facilitate healthy attachments to others and God. Our Board is now considering Restarting and the subsequent Thrive programs as the "missing link" for our healing ministry.

As a Therapist, I have long believed the relevance of recent brain development research to the healing of a brokenhearted world. As Director of a healing ministry, I struggled with how to train facilitators in understanding and using this information in a fairly concise and productive way that would result in healing. Struggle no more! In the Restarting Facilitator Training, Ed Khouri clearly communicates brain development research and demonstrates the use of exercises designed to retrain the brain for healthy attachments to others and God, in a vibrant and reproducible way in an easy to use program. With the help of Ed's training, our ministry now has over 12 facilitators running Restarting groups. The results are impressive. I can't believe the deeper healing that I'm getting in my own mens' group.

Whether you have used the Restarting materials already or not, the Restarting Facilitator’s Training is of extreme value. At Tallahassee Healing Prayer Ministry, we had about 5 classes a week and felt fairly secure in our leadership of the Restarting classes. However, after 4 days with Ed Khouri teaching and demonstrating the Restarting materials, our knowledge base went up 100%. Within 4 weeks of his training, our classes increased to 12 per week with approximately 10 persons per class. Our facilitators are much more secure and the passion that Ed ignited is exciting! We highly recommend the Restarting Facilitator’s Training, and we plan to have Ed come on a regular basis for on-going training and workshops!

Restarting is the most significant teaching that we have encountered in helping every person learn to “live life better” or to “thrive”. We have been using the Life Model as our guide in prayer ministry, however, it needs additional curriculum to teach the concepts. Restarting provides the brain knowledge, the brain skill building and God interventions necessary for healing and wholeness. As a coordinator in healing prayer ministry, I highly encourage all prayer ministers, prayer recipients, pastors, teachers, or parents to complete the Life Model series (4 courses) beginning with Restarting. It changes people’s lives. Whether you are left-brained or right-brained, you will learn how to use your brain as God intended in a joy centered community. One woman called me after her first class and said, “I didn’t want to go. I was feeling alone and sad and didn’t know anyone in the class. I left the first class feeling alive, valued and that I had a group of friends who would stand by me”. We don’t have to advertise for the classes. The best advertisement is the people who have already taken the class and want more! Presently, we have 12 classes each week. I have a long waiting list. You can’t get better than that!

I always had high hopes for the women in recovery that I have mentored for years, but remained frustrated by my inability to connect what they knew about Jesus to changed behaviors...cognitive therapy, bible study, traditional 12 step programs etc. all good tools, but all provided limited success for life long freedom. Until the Lord led us to Restarting...the change in our ability to get to ROOT issues, see women face core issues, have inner healing come, and new behaviors established that are not controlled by methods, but genuinely new behaviors birthed from healed hearts is what Restarting has wrought. Restarting has changed everything. I am convinced that the approach used in Restarting gets to the root of the problem, AND brings real hope to those who have tried and failed in recovery. Restarting in an invaluable process to bringing real freedom to those in recovery! The dvd's are easy to use, the manuals are self-explanatory; Restarting is a complete package that is easily started and taught by a beginner and non-professional like me! It is a program that finally engages all of the participants and is not leader centered. The participants do all the hard work. I would recommend Restarting to anyone interested in hosting a group in your home, your church, or commuity center who wants to see real success come to those in recovery! And, my favorite part about Restarting: a program that finally sees us all the same...removes the labels of addict, and instead sees us all who struggle with life issues as the same...we all have "stuff", and Restarting makes is safe to seek help and work on it!

The Restarting Training that Ed Khouri provides is amazing! I received not only all of the information to successfully facilitate a Restarting group, but I met a new friend, who is expert in all he teaches, providing simple explanations to complex issues that helped me to see into the lives of those we serve, and how to apply the tools in Restarting to see them set free! Ed is a gift to the Body of Christ whose expertise in recovery from addictions and pastoral insight and leadership is second to none! I will always remain his pupil!

about: Restarting Facilitator Training
I sat in on the facilitator's training which was held in Tallahassee in August 2008. I wanted to let you and your ministry team know that my life was transformed by the power of God during that three day training. Knowing the innerworkings of the brain and that hearing that God "configured" our brains to live in joy was revolutionizing to me. I can report to you that all contention that has permeated my home for 16 years is gone. I better understand my dear husband who is caught up in gambling at the time; my special needs son, who is quite a challenge for both my husband and myself; and myself and why I reacted like a 'crazy womanb' for years when my "buttons have been pushed." Know about the functions of the right and left side of the brain has opened a whole new world for me. I am now better equipped to handle situations as they arise in my home, I get quiet instead of reacting, I seek Jesus, and He truley leads the way or calms me so I can logically, rationally, and maturily deal with situations which arise. I am enrolled in a 12-week Restart class. I am so looking forward to what lies ahead... I know it will be healing and maturing. My desire is to be a godly woman who builds her house and wnho is obedient to the Holy Spirit in every setting in my life, so regardless of the circumstance I will be the same person that God created me to be. I am sharing with everyone I can the information I learned at the 3-day training class. I know this information when learned will set many of those who are captive free. It has me. I thank you and ask the Lord to bless the entire ministry team.
